This month marks the third month of my Reddit Portfolio DCA experiment, in which I invest $20 in the top seven crypto subreddits. The following are the top subreddits for the month of October:
# for October 2022 | Subscribers | Minimum monthly active user volume |
---|---|---|
1. Bitcoin | 4,667,592 (+2%) | 479,073 (11%) |
2. DOGE | 2,352,171 | 322,582 (41%) |
3. Ethereum | 1,527,693 (+4%) | 134,955 (-33%) |
4. Cardano | 697,079 | 113,184 (-6%) |
5. Shiba-Inu | 476,483 | 93,449 (+2%) |
6. Litecoin | 356,715 | 40,682 (+10%) |
7. XRP | 354,024 | 25,717 |
8. Monero (for info) | 274,590 (+2%) | 79,672 (+7%) |
Minimum monthly active user volume: Estimated number of monthly active users by monitoring daily active users at different time zones.
And here is the portfolio comparison with the crypto tech index:
Input (3 months) | Current Value (22-11-01) | Cryptocurrencies | |
---|---|---|---|
Reddit Index | $420 | 473.2 (+12.7%) | BTC, ETH, DOGE, ADA, SHIB, LTC, XRP |
Crypto Tech Index | $420 | 433.8 (+3.3%) | ETH, BNB, DOT, ADA, AVAX, MATIC, IOTA |
Today is the first time the Reddit portfolio has had a double digit gain. The Reddit portfolio continues to outperform the global market and the cryptocurrency tech index. While XRP carried my portfolio in September, DOGE was the major performer in the last month. The Twitter deal with Elon Musk appears to have caused the rise. The advantage of my experiment is that I do not need to care about the news; I invest in the swarm intelligence of Reddit - for better or worse, this only the future will know.
